The idea

Stop resting. Start peaking.

You are not tired because there is too much to do. You are tired because there is too little joy in it.

Summer is the season that asks nothing of you except that you live in it. Heat, light, salt water, sand in your hair, a peach eaten over the sink.

And yet most of us arrive at July with one wish: to finally rest. Not to peak. Rest is not the problem — the problem is what we think we are resting from.

Peaking is not optimising. It is not another practice to keep up. It is owning what you are good at and what delights you, out loud, in company, in your body. The slightly stupid idea you follow anyway, the one that turns out to be exactly what you needed.

And it does not happen alone. Transformation happens in relationship — with others, with story, and with yourself in motion.

When it is hot and humid, you literally cannot stop me.

Why now

The peak arrives later than the light.

Three archetypes

Not costumes. Positions.

When we step into an archetype we are not pretending to be someone else. We reach parts of ourselves that were always there. We take them on, live in them for a while, and leave again. Tap one.

One

Listen

Katonah Yoga, cartography, Kundalini and a little energetics — to find out what this version of you actually feels like from the inside.

Two

Feel

Rituals and sensual work, so that the body is a place you can stand to be in while you are in there.

Three

Express

Small room, low stakes. Writing it, saying it out loud, trying a register you do not normally use.

Four

Own

In public. Publish the thing, show the thing, take the argument. The step most of us quietly skip.

Why me, why summer

Summer is my season.

I found that out the year I started teaching with the seasons — how much energy summer gives me, and how much that says about the way energy moves through me at all.

What held me back was never the heat. It was other people and what they expected. The story I wanted to write for myself looked nothing like the one I was supposed to be living.

And here is something that does not get said often enough: women are rarely allowed to be hot for their own sake. We love to marinate — to float in clear water, to read, to write, to talk about it afterwards. What we were taught instead was to move and to look good for someone else. To make an impression rather than to feel anything.

Feeling at home in your own body changes all of it. That is what this month is built on.

How it runs

Three Saturdays, twenty-one mornings, one loud chat.

Three workshops

One archetype each, live on Zoom on a Saturday morning — the hour when summer is still ahead of you for the whole day. Everything recorded.

21 days of Kundalini

The same kriya every weekday morning at 7.30, live, together. Weekends are yours. This is the part that changes what the rest of the day feels like.

A group that dares you

What you cannot give yourself you get from the others: laughter, nerve, and someone who says do it before you can talk yourself out of it.

21 days

The Kundalini is included. Same kriya, every weekday morning, live. Forty minutes before the day has an opinion about you.

Workshop I — Maiden[DATE]
  • Saturday [DATE] · [TIME] Alice in Wonderland. Curiosity, the beginner's mind, and the nerve to fall down the hole without knowing what is underneath.
Workshop II — Creator[DATE]
  • Saturday [DATE] · [TIME] Frida Kahlo. Making things out of your actual life instead of waiting for a better one to make them from.
Workshop III — Crown[DATE]
  • Saturday [DATE] · [TIME] Mary Magdalene. Standing in what you know when the room would rather you didn't.
The mornings21 days
  • Weekdays [DATE] – [DATE] Kundalini, 7.30, live on Zoom. The same kriya each morning.
  • Weekends Self practice. Nobody is counting.

A taste of the first Saturday

What still delights you?

It is a smaller question than it sounds, and most people cannot answer it immediately. Not what is meaningful. Not what is good for you. What actually delights you — the way a cold drink on a hot afternoon delights you.

We have gotten very good at knowing what we should want. Much of what we call tiredness is the distance between that and what we actually want.

The Maiden is the part of you that never lost the answer. She is just out of practice.

Next year

There is nothing waiting on the other side of the wait.

Every summer someone asks whether they can do this next year instead. Of course you can. But a year is four seasons, and it means choosing to spend this summer roughly the way you spent the last one.

Nothing is lost by doing a thing later — except the thing itself, at the only time it was going to happen.

Summer is my favorite Season

Your host Steffi Grube

When it’s hot + humid you literally can’t stop me.

When I started with my seasonal courses - the work behind living with the seasons, changing your own rhythm to the one of nature - it struck me how much energy I have in summer. And how much this says about me and how energy runs through me.

But what held me back were other people and their expectations. The story I wanted to write for myself looked nothing like what others expected of me.

Something that isn't talked about enough is how patriarchy holds women back from being hot for their own sake - because we love to marinate, to float in crystal clear water, to read, write, reflect, and talk about it. What patriarchy did was tell us to move and look good for men, to make more impressions. Rather than to feel ourselves and enjoy ourselves IN our bodies.

Feeling at home in your body makes all the difference.

That is exactly what Mid Somma is built on. The archetypes we work with: Alice, Frida, Mary Magdalene, are not just characters. They are mirrors. They show you the parts of yourself that were always there, waiting for a season warm enough to bloom. This summer, we do that together. In our bodies, in our power, on our own terms.
